DIY Eyeshadow ~ Halloween Candy Corn Edition πŸŽƒ

Updated: Oct 10, 2019

I have always LOVED eyeshadow. It was the first product I bought at Sephora when I was 13 and I have been hooked ever since! After over a decade of loving eyeshadows I have become very picky when it comes to textures and colors. So to be honest I thought DIY eyeshadow would be something I would never make! I just thought it would be to hard to make something I would actually WANT to wear on my eyes. It took a lot of research and many many test batches but I have to say I am really proud of the recipe I have come up with! For a natural eyeshadow it is very creamy, pigmented, and long wearing!

I personally love the fact that I know exactly what is in it and don’t have to worry about toxic ingredients. Plus I get to choose/mix exactly the colors I want (which I’ve been having a lot of fun with!!!) so if your interested in making your own shadows keep reading πŸ˜‰ I will also list the color combos I am loving so far!

Β
Shadow Base:

1 Tbs Bentonite Clay

1 Tbs Arrowroot Powder

3-5 Drops Lavender Essential Oil (Optional)

Ingredients:

1/4th Tsp Cosmetic Grade Mica

1/8th Tsp Shadow Base (Approximately)

3-5 Argan Oil

Pea sized amount of fresh Aloe Vera

Notes πŸ“

I recommend letting the shadows sit for 12+ hours before using them. Gives the aloe time to dry down.

Some colors will need more shadow base to be smooth and silky. For example I found when I made gold it needed the regular amount but when I was working with purples and orange in needed a little more base to be smooth and silky on the skin so I recommend testing it on your skin before adding the Argan and Aloe. That way if you need to add more base it’s easy to blend. The color will also intensify when you add the Argan and Aloe. Just some things to keep in mind.

I’ve been using Stardust Micas pigments to make my shadows. I LOVE them! They are cosmetic grade and they have lots of gorgeous colors to choose from! 😍

Just a reminder. Because it’s cosmetic grade does not always mean eye safe πŸ‘ most of the Stardust micas are eye safe but just double check before ordering if your picking a color not listed here πŸ‘πŸ»
